Hi! I'm Bretton Martin. I'm owner of West Texas Boots and Shoots Photography, my favorite place is behind my camera, on the track or capturing small business owners pursuing their passion.
I started West Texas boots and Shoots originally Bretton L Martin Photography in Oct 2020. Since starting my business I’ve changed and grown so much, both in my business and skill as an artist, but also as a person, I've met new friends and lost others. I couldn’t have done it without my family and friends around me supporting and encouraging me. I’m so thankful God has given me the creative skills to capture the images I do, and that my parents raised me with the want to always learn more and work ethic, and for my parents and best friend pushing me out of my comfort zone.
My favorite times behind my camera is on the track in the dirt, whether its practice or race day. Training with Elevated MX out of Cloudcroft, New Mexico, and hanging out with some of my favorite little peoples out on the track, Oak and Lincoln Log. I love playing in the mud, the smell of the bikes.
As much as I love motocross its not the only things I shoot though. Karate is a lot of fun to photograph too, plus its inside where its air conditioned and out of the wind! Which is definitely a change of pace for me. But shooting the Tall City Classic was an amazing experience, I learn quite a bit about not only Karate, but also myself, my limits and pushing myself. It has opened doors I didn’t think were possible. I love shooting Motocross and Karate but I will photograph just about anything, I love to challenge myself and try something new. Except weddings, sorry you do not want me photographing your wedding it is not gonna work out well.
In addition to running West Texas Boots and Shoots I volunteer with Permian Basin Archers Association, photography their monthly shoots, as well as Co-teach Midland County 4H photography project. If I’m not busy working, or taking pictures you can find me, shooting my bow, reading mysteries, listening to music (mostly country) cuddling or walking one of my dogs, or hanging out with friends.
